We have successfully reached a milestone on our project at Ipswich Hospital, providing new surgical assessment wards. Following the completion of the new steel platform in a restricted courtyard area, we have successfully lifted the new AHU plant into the permanent location following weeks of planning. Due to the complexity of the lift and the weight of the plant together with the distance from the lifting area to the platform, the operations required a 300 T crane – one of the largest cranes in the country to lift the equipment over existing roofs onto the plant deck. A fantastic team effort working in collaboration to deliver a high-risk element of the works in a busy hospital environment.
