We’ve recently reached a major milestone on-site with the commencement of the new roof steel structure — a key phase in the ongoing extension and transformation of this iconic venue.
This intricate operation involves lifting steel sections onto the roof from neighbouring Catherine Street using a mobile tower crane — all without the need for a full road closure. A true logistical feat!
What makes this project especially challenging (and incredibly rewarding) is that all works are taking place while the theatre remains fully operational. That means meticulous planning, coordination and a high degree of sensitivity are absolutely essential.
It’s a real privilege to contribute to the evolution of such a historic space and we’re working closely with all stakeholders to ensure the show goes on — quite literally.
