The theme of this year’s Mental Health Awareness Week (10-16th May 2021) was nature.
There is no doubt that the last year or so has been difficult for all of us at times with the impact that COVID 19 has had on our business and personal lives. Our interaction with nature, taking walks / visiting green areas has proved one of the popular coping strategies to help with our mental health.
As part of this nature theme, Beardwell decided to run a competition for the best photo showing NATURE taken during the last 12 months. The competition was open to all staff and received some excellent and imaginative entries.
In first place was Ethan Taylor with a photograph titled simply ‘Shrub End’. In second and third were Matt Evans with ‘Life and Death’ and Dave Waters with ‘Should I record this slip as a near miss’.
Although not quite qualifying as a member of staff, a special prize was given to Heidi Smith (13) – daughter of Contracts Manager Glen Smith – for ‘Butterfly’.
Congratulations to all our inspirational entrants.
